Ohio Region OET Advisor
Responsibilities
Supports and promotes the Central Division Outdoor Emergency Transportation Program including current thought toboggan handling and training and documented policy and procedure
Assists the Ohio Region OET Advisor in planning, scheduling, and providing training opportunities for the Ohio Region member patrols
Assists the Ohio Region OET Advisor in planning, scheduling, and providing recertification clinics for the Ohio Region OET Instructors
Assists with the planning and provides support during the Ohio Region Senior Program training and evaluation events, as requested by the Ohio Region Senior Program Advisor, the Ohio Region OET Advisor, and Ohio Region Leadership
Work closely with the Ohio Region NSP-C Ski School Advisor and Ohio Region Senior Program Advisor for scheduling and resource sharing
Attends and participates in the Central Division and Ohio Region Skills Development events annually
Attends and participates in Ohio Region OET training, certification, recertification and evaluation events throughout the Ohio Region
Assists with maintaining a roster of Ohio Region OET Instructors and provides information to Ohio Region Leadership and other Ohio Region Program Advisors as required and requested
Assists Ohio Region Outdoor Emergency Transportation Advisor and Ohio Region Leadership with the maintenance of current and development of new policies and procedures as necessary and/or requested
Assists Ohio Region Outdoor Emergency Transportation Advisor in disseminating policy and procedure changes and additions to the Ohio Region from the Central Division
Assists Ohio Region Outdoor Emergency Transportation Advisor with any administrative tasks relating to the Ohio Region OET Program and as required/requested
Assumes the role of Region Outdoor Emergency Transportation Advisor when the current advisor’s term is completed
Qualifications
1. Member of the National Ski Patrol and in good standing with their member patrol and the Ohio Region NSP
2. Registered as a Senior or Certified Alpine Ski Patroller
3. An active OET Instructor with their member patrol and/or the Ohio Region OET Program
4. An active OET Instructor Trainer or OET Instructor Trainer mentee
5. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, using traditional and electronic media as appropriate
6. Strong administrative skills with the ability to organize events, register, and complete OET Events as required and in accordance with established schedules and deadlines
7. Leadership within the NSP by holding or having held leadership roles at the national, division, region, section or local member patrol level(s)

Term of Appointment
3 years or the completion of the current Ohio Region Outdoor Emergency Transportation Advisor’s term, whichever comes first.
